2012 Season (Senior): Named second-team NFCA All-South Region and All-Southland... earned first-team All-Louisiana and Southland All-Academic honors… ranked in the top 10 in the Southland in eight offensive categories - batting average (.350/8th), slugging percentage (.602/2nd), on-base percentage (.457/2nd), RBIs (29/6th), doubles (10/7th), home runs (7/6th), total bases (74/9th) and walks (26/3rd)... had 13 multi-hit games, including a season-high three (two home runs) in the season opener vs. Northern Illinois... had nine multi-RBI games, driving in four twice... was walked a league-high 15 times in conference play... hit .385 (10 hits) with a double, a home run and three RBIs in 10 games vs. NCAA Tournament Field... set the Colonel record with a 16-game hitting streak, with 14 coming in the previous season... also had a nine-game hitting streak... despite playing only two seasons, ranks third on the Colonel home run list (24) and is 11th in RBIs (80)… leaves Nicholls with the highest career slugging percentage (.677)… ranks fifth all-time in batting average (.361) and 11th in RBIs (80).

2011 Season (Junior): Named Southland Conference Player and Newcomer of the Year, in addition to first-team honors… garnered third-team Easton All-American and second-team NFCA All-South Region… named first-team All-Louisiana… earned player of the week honors from the Southland and LSWA after hitting three homers in one game, a Colonel record, with seven RBIs… set program single-season home run record with 17… ranked second in the Southland in batting (.368) and first in home runs (17), RBIs (51) and slugging percentage (.732)… finished in the top 10 of eight offensive categories in the SLC including; third in hits (62), seventh in runs (34) and ninth in on-base percentage (.424). In the field, she recorded a league-best 142 assists. … tied for 12th in the NCAA in home runs and ranked 46th in RBIs… had 19 multi-hit games, including four three-hit games… drew 19 walks and had one stolen base… currently tied for seventh on the all-time career home run list after just one season… heads into 2012 with a 14-game hitting streak, which is tied for the program’s longest. 

At Louisiana-Lafayette: Played in 23 games including two starts as a freshman…had four hits in 20 at-bats… scored seven runs and had two RBIs… started five of 20 games played in 2010… hit .250 on the season… scored three runs and stole a base.

At Beau Chene: Lettered four years in softball for the Gators… received all-state honors from 2006-08… earned first-team all-district, all-parish, and All-Acadiana in each season… named Parish MVP and Beau Chene Female Athlete of the Year as a senior… maintained a 3.0 or higher in all four years… member of the BETA Club, FCA, FBLA and FCCLA.

Personal: Ashley Elizabeth Ray was born on March 28, 1990 in Lafayette… daughter of Jeff and Naomi Ray… has an older sister, Amanda LaFleur… majoring in general studies.
