Nicholls State University

As a sophomore (2010): Appeared in 41 games with 37 starts… Hit .183 on the year… Had 13 hits with one home run in 71 at-bats… Drove in four runs… Tied for third on the Colonels with 13 base on balls… Had six sacrifices… Finished with a .927 fielding percentage. 

As a freshman (2009): Played in 20 games for the Colonels, garnering two starts in the outfield... Had a .091 batting average... Recorded one hit, one run and one RBI in 11 at bats... Posted a slugging percentage of .091 to go along with a .333 on-base percentage... Was caught stealing on her only attempt of the season... Her lone hit on the season came against Southern (Feb. 17) when she went 1-for-1 with a RBI in the Colonels' 7-1 victory.

At McNeil: Played and lettered all four years... Helped lead the team to 21-1-1 finish in 2007, en rout to being named District Champions... Named Academic All-District three seasons... Dubbed with All-District honors her senior season.

Personal: Full name is Laine Ann Strickland... Born on December 16, 1989 in Austin, Texas... Daughter of Laura and Jerry Strickland... Has a twin brother named Bailey... Majoring in General Studies... Inspires to one day coach softball.
