Biography

Bobby Galinsky begins his third season as Director of Compliance and his seventh season overall at Nicholls. Prior to being appointed as the Compliance Coordinator, Galinsky served as the Sports Information Director and the football contact for three seasons. During his tenure as the SID, Galinsky primarily handled football, men[apos]s basketball, baseball and men and women[apos]s golf and assisted with a variety of tasks as well, including updating Nicholls[apos] athletics website, managing the Football Press Box on game days and serving as the [quote]Voice of the Colonels[quote] for numerous away baseball games. Prior to coming to Nicholls, Galinsky served as the Sports Information Director at Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Miss., from April of 1999 to August of 2001. During his two years as SID at the Columbus, Miss. school, he served as the primary contact for volleyball, women[apos]s basketball and softball while serving as Media Coordinator for the Gulf South[apos]s men[apos]s and women[apos]s tennis championships in 2000. Galinsky began his journalism career as a sports reporter for the Commercial Dispatch (Columbus, Miss.), where served as a beat writer for the University of Alabama[apos]s football and men[apos]s basketball programs. Bringing a keen eye for detail, Galinsky comes to Thibodaux with three College Sports Information Director[apos]s of America (CoSIDA) awards, earning Best Media Guide Cover honors for his 2000 volleyball media guide and his 2001 softball media guide while picking up Best Layout and Design accolades for his 2001 softball media guide. Galinsky resides in Houma with his wife of nine years Jaime and his seven-year old daughter Allison and three-year old son, Robert Ellis. In his spare time, Galinsky enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
