Biography

Louise [quote]Do[quote] Bonin begins her 14th year as the Senior Woman Administrator at Nicholls. In her normal role, Bonin oversees the day-to-day operation of the Lady Colonel athletic program. Bonin, the former head women[apos]s basketball coach, came to Nicholls after a year as an assistant coach at Fordham University in The Bronx, New York, where she was a part of the Rams[apos] first appearance in the NCAA Division I Championship. Fordham posted a 21-9 record and captured the Patriot League[apos]s regular season and post-season tournament championships. At Nicholls, Bonin inherited a program that has had one winning season. During her 10-year span on the bench, the Lady Colonels continued to improve and became a competitive club in the Southland Conference. During the 1998-1999 campaign, Bonin[apos]s squad captured the program[apos]s most wins since the 1990-91 season and reached the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time in the school[apos]s history. The New Iberia native began her coaching career at Dodson High School where six of her seven teams advanced to the Class C state playoffs. She was an assistant coach for three seasons at Pineville High School, and from 1987 to 1992, was the physical education department head and basketball coach at Leesville High School. Four of her five teams at Leesville advanced to the state playoffs. Bonin earned her bachelor[apos]s degree from Northwestern State in 1977 and earned a master[apos]s degree in secondary administration and supervision from the school in 1983.
