2012 (Sophomore): Had the highest finish of the season at the Ragin Cajun Invitational with a time of 30:14.6 to finish 12th overall... Finished 40th at the LSU Invitational with a time of 32:23.3... Had a 31st place finish at the McNeese event with a time of 23:37... Closed out the season with a time of 30:00.3 at the Choctaw Open.

2011 (Freshman): Finished 13th in his first meet at Nicholls, coming in at 23:14 in the ULL Ragin Cajun Invitational... Finished the Cowboy Stampede in 22:42... Completed the Crimson Classic in 30:12.71... Finished the 2011 Southland Conference Championships in 30:42.1.

Prior to Nicholls

Assumption High School – Was a four-year letter winner for AHS under head coach Chad Landry… As a freshman was an honorable mention all-district selection… As a sophomore was named to the all-district first team and was a regional qualifier in track and field in the 1600 and 3200-meter run… As a junior was named first team all-district, was district champion in the 3200-meters and qualified for the regional meet in the 1600 meter and 3200-meter run… Earned first team all-district honors as a senior, qualified for the 3200-meter run in the indoor season advancing to the state meet and outdoor, as well as the javelin at the regional meet.

Personal – Full name is Reece Christopher Vitale… Born June 8, 1993 in Baton Rouge, La…. Son of Philip and Kim Vitale… has two siblings, Morgan (24) and Dru (22)… Was a member of the student council, National Honor Society of Sports Medicine… Majoring in athletic training.
