Hunter Haas

Hunter Haas joined the Nicholls baseball coaching staff after playing at Arizona State and Texas A&M. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2023 MLB Draft.

Hass had a decorated collegiate career. At Texas A&M, he earned Stanford Regional All-Regional Team honors, was named ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Second Team, was a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist, and was selected to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List. As a freshman at Arizona State, Haas was named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American, earned Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honors, was selected ABCA All-West Region Second Team, and was an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove finalist. He finished his collegiate career with 149 games played, a .300 batting average, .406 on base percentage, 108 runs scored, 32 doubles, 12 home runs, and 82 RBIs.

A native of Tempe, Arizona, Haas played for Team USA's 18U National Team and competed in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup. He was also a member of the USA Baseball 14U National Development Program and was consistently ranked among the nation's top high school prospects by Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report.

Haas was born in New York, New York, to Ken and Rebecca Haas. His younger brother, Grant, is a member of the Nicholls baseball team, and he is engaged to Thibodaux native Lila Bordis.
