Matthew Martin was named Head Equipment Manager for Athletics in July 2025.
Martin oversees the daily operations of the equipment room and ensures that all athletic teams are properly outfitted for practices, competitions, and travel, as well as, responsible for managing the purchasing, inventory, maintenance, and distribution of athletic gear across all 17 Colonel sports programs.
Martin joined Nicholls State University from Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. At Tiffin, he oversaw day-to-day equipment operations and served as the Special Teams Quality Control analyst.
Before joining the coaching staff at Tiffin, Martin played for the Dragons as a kicker/punter for the 2022-2024 seasons.
Prior to Tiffin University, Martin spent time at Nicholls, from 2019 to 2022, as a member of the Colonels’ football program as a kicker/punter.
Matthew is from Houma, Louisiana. He graduated from Nicholls with a Bachelors of Science in Allied Health and from Tiffin University with an MBA in Sports Management.
