    Special Teams Coordinator
Webb Hamilton joined the Colonel football coaching staff prior to the 2025 season and will serve as the special teams coordinator.

Hamilton arrived at Nicholls after spending three seasons at East Mississippi Community College. Along with coaching the linebackers, Hamilton assisted with special teams and was the head strength coach. While he was at EMCC, the Lions claimed back-to-back MACCC championships in 2022 and '23 and were national runners-up in 2023. The defense posted a No. 3 ranking in interceptions in their first championship campaign and No. 3 in sacks in the following season.

The Lions also saw a total of six linebackers go on to play at Division I programs during Hamilton's stint.

In 2019, Hamilton was the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach at Navarro College. The Bulldogs won the SWJCFC title and ranked first in the nation in blocked punts, second in kick return yards and field goals made, fourth in net punting and fifth in punt return average.

From 2014-18, Hamilton spent five years at Troy University as assistant linebackers coach and senior football analyst, and as a graduate assistant. The Trojans won the Sun Belt championship in 2017 and won three bowls games during his tenure -- the Dollar General Bowl (2018, '16) and the New Orleans Bowl ('17).

Prior to Troy, Hamilton coached at East Central Community College in 2012 before going to EMCC for their national championship season in '13. The Lion defense posted one of the best defenses in the country that season, ranking first in sacks and defensive touchdowns, second in points allowed and interceptions, and third in total defense.

Hamilton graduated from Mississippi State with a degree in kinesiology and earned a Master's of Science in Sport and Fitness Management at Troy.
