Greg Harkins was named head coach of the Nicholls State University tennis program in September of 2016.
Harkins came to Nicholls after directing the women's tennis program at the University of Louisiana from 2011-15. While at UL, Harkins guided the Ragin' Cajuns to 40 victories and a finals appearance in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. In the classroom, his team held the school record for most consecutive semesters with a 3.0 or above grade point average.
Before taking over the UL program, Harkins was an assistant coach for the men's and women's teams at College of Charleston from 2008-10. Both teams posted undefeated records in 2010 to claim Southern Conference regular season titles and each squad was ranked in the top 60 for the first time in school history. The women's team also enjoyed postseason success, earning back-to-back conference tournament titles and bids into the NCAA Tournament. During Harkins' tenure, the teams combined to go 71-32 in four seasons.
Harkins also held positions at several tennis clubs, most recently as Tennis Director at Atkinson-Stern Tennis Center in New Orleans.
Harkins lettered at Georgia State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in integrated studies.
