Alexsis Cable

On Friday, August 9, 2019, Nicholls State University head women's soccer coach Danny Free announced Alexsis Cable as the new assistant coach for the program.

Cable serves as the Colonels' recruiting coordinator -- with specific focus in Louisiana and Texas -- and also as the team's video coordinator. She handles coaching responsibilities on the defensive side of the pitch while also assisting the remainder of the staff in the day-to-day activities of the program.

Prior to joining the Red & Gray, Cable acted as the graduate assistant at Northwestern State, helping the squad to its second Southland Conference Tournament berth in three seasons and a 10-win campaign. In addition to arranging practice schedules and her usual coaching duties, Cable managed video operations for the Lady Demons and assisted with social media.

Before taking over the GA position with Northwestern State, Cable competed for two seasons at the University of North Texas (2015-16), logging 34 appearances with 12 starts before a knee injury cut her senior season short. As a career center back, she contributed to a defense that posted 20 combined shutouts over her two years in Denton, Texas, and even managed to rack up three assists as well. On the pitch, the Mean Green put together two strong seasons, notching back-to-back Conference USA championships and a NCAA Tournament berth.

The Double Oak, Texas native spent her first two collegiate campaigns with the Southland rival Southeastern Louisiana (2013-14), bolstering the Lady Lions to a 2013 Southland Conference Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. Statistically, she notched her only career goal during her freshman season, adding two assists as well, and compiled 40 starts with 43 total appearances.

Cable received a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Studies from the University of North Texas in May 2017 and a Master of Science in Health & Human Performance from Northwestern State in May 2019.Â
