Moment Of Silence Before Kickoff To Be Held For Nathan Trepagnier
THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University and Nicholls State University Athletics will hold a moment of silence on Saturday prior to kickoff against Sam Houston State in mourning due to the recent passing of Nicholls student Nathan Trepagnier.
Trepagnier, 19, was a sophomore pursuing an undergraduate degree in history with aspirations upon graduation to attend law school. The Metairie, La. native passed on due to injuries sustained in a hayride accident on Saturday, September 25 in Thibodaux.
“We unite in offering our condolences to the Trepagnier family in their time of mourning and will keep Nathan and his family in our thoughts and prayers. Nathan's death represents a tragic loss from our university family. We know that Nathan loved his fraternity, Kappa Alpha. To the brothers of Kappa Alpha go our condolences for their family loss,” said Nicholls President Dr. Stephen T. Hulbert.
Trepagnier was the valedictorian of the 2009 graduating class of Holy Rosary High School in New Orleans. He was also a member of the Kappa Alpha order at Nicholls. Members of the Kappa Alpha order, both current and former, will be on the field for the moment of silence.
The moment of silence will be held at 3:50 p.m., approximately 10 minutes before kickoff. The band will follow with Nicholls' alma mater and the National Anthem.
All fans attending the game are being asked to arrive 20 minutes prior to kickoff to mourn with the Nicholls community and the Trepagnier family and friends.
