THIBODAUX - The Nicholls State University women's volleyball team (13-15, 5-10 Southland Conference) will try to clinch their third consecutive postseason appearance on Saturday when the Colonels conclude the 2010 regular season against Northwestern State (13-15, 4-11 Southland) with a 2 p.m. first serve in Stopher Gym.

The Colonels do need some help in their quest for their third consecutive Southland Conference Tournanment berth as Nicholls heads into Saturday's match tied for the eighth and final seed for the conference tournament with Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.  However, the Islanders own the head-to-head tiebreaker over Nicholls after a 3-0 win over the Colonels in Thibodaux on Oct. 15.

Nicholls needs a win over the Demons on Saturday, combined with a loss by the Islanders at Texas State on Saturday to clinch the No. 8 seed at the 2010 conference tournament.

The Colonels will be looking for a season sweep of the Demons after claiming a 3-1 win at Northwestern State on Sept. 30.

Prior to the start of the match, the Colonels will honor seniors Chelsea Dockrey and Elise King in a Senior Day ceremony.
