The Colonels will look for their second straight road upset of the season on Sunday
Game Notes
THIBODAUX - Fresh off one of the biggest wins in school history, the Nicholls State University men's basketball team (1-1) will look to make it two straight when the Colonels head to Stillwater, Okla. to take on national power Oklahoma State (2-0) at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
After opening the season with a heart-breaking 63-62 overtime loss at 2009 NCAA Tournament qualifier and defending Conference USA Tournament champ Houston on Nov. 12, Nicholls rebounded with a 62-53 win over LSU on Nov. 16.
The win over the Tigers in Baton Rouge was the first for the Colonels in 17 match-ups with LSU and snapped the Tigers' 82-game home-court win streak against in-state competition.
On offense, Nicholls has been led by the one-two punch of senior guard/forward
Anatoly Bose and junior guard/forward
Fred Hunter. Bose enters Sunday's game having scored at least 22 points in his last five games, dating back to last season. The Sydney, Australia native scored 22 in the Colonels' season opening loss at Houston before lighting up the Tigers for 28.
Meanwhile, Hunter set a career-high with a 28-point performance at Houston before recording 18 at LSU. Hunter has also led the Colonels' defense, racking up seven steals in the first two games of the season. Combined, Bose and Hunter have accounted for 96 of the Colonels' 124 points, 77.4 percent of the Nicholls offense.
On defense, the Colonels have forced 44 turnovers through the first two games of the season. Nicholls has racked up 22 steals and has outrebounded opponents 22-20 on the offensive end.
However, the Cowboys will be a tough test for the Colones as Oklahoma State enters Sunday having gone 163-3 against non-conference opponents in Gallagher-Iba Arena since 1987. The Pokes own a
26-game home win streak against non-conference teams. The last team from outside the Big XII to best the Cowboys on their own home floor was Marist in the 2007 National Invitational Tournament.
Oklahoma State is off to a 2-0 start with wins over Houston Baptist and the Colonels' fellow Southland Conference rival Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Cowboys are led by an offensive attack that features four scorers averaging in double figures. Marshall Moses leads the way witth a 17.0 point/game average. He is joined by fellow double-digit scorers Ray Penn (11.0 ppg), Keiton Page (10.5 ppg) and Jean-Paul Olukemi (10.5 ppg).
Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena. Links to live stats and live streaming audio is available on the men's basketball schedule page of

Mike Wagenheim will provide the play-by-play for the Colonels.
Sunday's tilt with the Cowboys marks the end of a three-game season-opening road trip for Nicholls. Following the game, the Colonels will return to Thibodaux to open the home portion of their 2010 schedule by hosting Tulane in the Green Wave's first visit to Stopher Gym in 19 seasons. Tipoff against Tulane is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday Nov. 26.
