SAN MARCOS, Texas -
Sophomore middle blocker Jessica Addicks turned in a .444 hitting percentage (10-2-18) along with a team-high ten kills, but it wasn't enough for the Nicholls State University women's volleyball team (13-13, 5-8 Southland Conference) as the Colonels fell to Texas State (16-11, 9-4 Southland) 3-0 by scores of 18-25, 22-25, 20-25 on Thursday night.

Addicks continued a hot streak, turning in her third consecutive match with double-digit kills.  In her last three matches, Addicks has turned in a .297 hitting percentage (32-6-77) with ten kills at Lamar on Oct. 28 and 12 kills on Oct. 30 at McNeese State.

Addicks provided most of the offense for the Colonels as the Texas State defense limited Nicholls to .093 hitting (30-20-107).  Meanwhile, the Bobcat offense combined to hit .250 (44-14-120), with four Texas State players posting hitting percentages of .300 or better.

The loss marks the third consecutive defeat for the Colonels while on a stretch of four consecutive matches away from home.  Nicholls will conclude its road schedule on Saturday with a trip to Texas-Arlington.
