WICHITA, Kan. - Senior forward Anatoly Bose drained five three pointers for the third time this season en route to his 35th career 20-point game. However, it wasn't enough for the Nicholls State University men's basketball team (4-3) as the Colonels fell to Missouri Valley Conference power Wichita State (6-2) by a final of 68-50 on Friday night in Wichita, Kan.
The Shockers were led by a balanced offensive attack that saw four Wichita State players score in double-digits. Toure Murray led the Shockers with 13 points, J.T. Durley added 12, Graham Hatch had 11 and David Kyles added ten to the WSU cause.
The Shockers only owned a narrow margin in the shooting category, outshooting Nicholls 42.6 percent (23-for-54) to 40.5 percent (17-for-42). However, WSU outrebounded Nicholls 39 to 23 and scored 14 points off of 13 Colonel turnovers. It marked the first time this season that Nicholls, which forced nine WSU turnovers, committed more turnovers than the opposition.
