Final Stats Box Score and Play-by-Play

THIBODAUX -
Junior guard/forward Fred Hunter and senior forward Anatoly Bose each surpassed the 20-point mark, senior point guard Kenny Franklin Jr. totaled 12 points to give the Colonels three scorers in double-digits, and the Nicholls defense forced 26 turnovers to keep the opposition in check as the Nicholls State University men's basketball team (6-4) rolled to an 89-67 victory over NAIA school Jarvis Christian College.

Hunter led the way for the Nicholls offense, racking up 27 points, one shy of his career high, on 9-for-16 shooting.  The Denton, Texas native made took advantage of the Bulldogs' aggressive interior defense, repeatedly drawing contact, getting to the line, and going 9-for-12 from the charity stripe.

Hunter finished just one rebound shy of a double-double, chasing down a team-high nine rebounds on the night, and tied for the team-high with five assists.

Meanwhile, after totaling just nine points in the opening frame, Bose produced a second-half scoring surge.  The Syndey, Australia native poured in 16 second half points en route to a 25-point night.  After going 3-for-7 from the field in the opening frame, Bose went 6-for-11 from the floor in the second half.  For the night, Bose sank a pair of three pointers on eight attempts and went 5-for-6 from the line.

While struggling to score early, Bose found other ways to lead the Colonels on Tuesday.  Bose tied his single game career high by racking up four of Nicholls' 13 steals, hauling in seven rebounds and tying Hunter for the team-high five assists on the night.

Meanwhile, Franklin connected on four of his five field goal attempts, missing just one of his two three point attempts, and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the line en route to a 12 point night.  Franklin also turned in a solid performance on the defensive end, racking up three steals on the night.

Five different Colonels found their way into the assist column, while seven Colonels scored against the Bulldog defense.  Freshmen guards Dantrell Thomas and Bryan Hammond totaled eight points each of the bench, narrowly missing giving the Colonels five scorers in double digits for the first time this season.

The win over JCC extends the Colonels' home court winning streak to eight.  Nicholls has not lost at home since a Feb. 10, 2010 matchup with Sam Houston State.  Nicholls has gone 25-4 at home since the start of the 2008-09 season.
