CORPUS CHRISTI - Nicholls State University junior left hander Clint Dempster was named to the Southland Conference All-Tournament team leading Nicholls to its first postseason win in twelve years, the league office announced following the conclusion of the 2010 event.
On Wednesday, Dempster led No. 8 seed Nicholls to the biggest upset of the 2010 tournament. Dempster delivered a complete game performance in a 13-2, run-rule shortened, 8.0 inning game against the regular season champion and No. 1 seed Texas State.
Dempster limited the Southland's top team to just two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two.
The Thibodaux native becomes the first Colonel since Rondon Anderson in 2000 to earn Southland Conference All-Tournament honors.
