THIBODAUX - Friday afternoon's matchup between the Nicholls State University and Jackson State University women's soccer teams, orignially scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Nicholls Soccer Field, has been moved to a 3 p.m. kickoff at Pan American Stadium in City Park in New Orleans this Friday, the Nicholls Athletics Department announced today.

Heavy rains in the Thibodaux area the last two weeks rendered the Colonels' home field unplayable, so Nicholls and Jackson State have agreed to take the contest to the recently renovated Pan American Stadium.  The time change is meant to accommodate a high school football game scheduled for Pan American Stadium later that night.

Pan American Stadium, home to the New Orleans Jesters of the United Soccer League's Premier Development League as well as several local high school and youth teams, was renovated and remodeled as part of renovations to City Park in 2008.  As part of the 2008 renovations, the stadium features a new field turf playing surface as well as improved locker rooms and fan seating.
