Member of the Colonel football program recently made a visit to the Cancer Center at Thibodaux Regional Medical
THIBODAUX - Members of the Nicholls State University football offensive line recently made a visit to the Thibodaux Regional Medical Cancer Center to spend time with patients that are receiving treatment.
Along with graduate assistant Mario Jeberaeel, the players who visited the TRMCC were
Tyler Knowles,
Rafe Plaisance,
Bart Roussel and
Ryan Zeller.
“I appreciate the cancer center allowing our young men to visit the patients,” said Nicholls football head coach Charlie Stubbs. “I know that the football players benefited from the experience, with lots of smiles on everyone's faces.”
While it was an uplifting experience for the Colonels, the patients enjoyed their company as well with comments such as “Really enjoyed having them here,” “ It was nice to talk with them and not think about what I am going through,” “There is still nice, young people today,” and “Appreciated them taking time out of their school schedule.”
Throughout the season, the Nicholls football program has been making a consistent effort to reach out to the community by visiting local hospitals and schools.
The Colonels will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 5, when they take on in-state and conference rival, McNeese State. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
