Colonels Host Bobcats, Look for Second Straight Win

THIBODAUX - Fresh off clinching their best season in four years, the Nicholls State University women's basketball team (7-14, 2-6 Southland Conference) will look for their second consecutive win and their best season since the 2004-05 campaign when the Colonels host Texas State (7-13, 2-5 Southland Conference) on Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. tipoff against the Bobcats in Stopher Gym.

The Colonels picked up their seventh win of the season on Wednesday with a 77-74 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, marking the most wins by a Colonel team since the 2006-07 season.

A win over the Bobcats on Saturday would give Nicholls it's first eight-win season since 2004-05 and give Nicholls it's first winning streak since the Colonels won three straight from Dec. 15-21.

The Colonels are led by a trio of double-digit scorers, including senior guard Ricshanda Bickham's 14.1 point/game average.  Joining her is freshman guard KK Babin with 12.8 points/game and sophomore guard Alisha Allen's 11.6 point/game average.

Tipoff between the Bobcats and Colonels is set for 3:30 p.m. in Stopher Gym.
