THIBODAUX - The Nicholls State University baseball team and Thibodaux Regional Medical Center combined to raise $7,285.00 to benefit breast cancer research on Thursday night in the Colonels' inaugural Bat Against Breast Cancer Game at Ray E. Didier Field.

Thibodaux Regional Medical Center sponsored special pink jerseys which the Colonels wore for Thursday night's series opener against McNeese State.  After completing a thrilling 7-2 win over the Cowboys to keep their 2011 postseason hopes alive, the Colonels auctioned off more than 30 jerseys that led to more than $7,000 in bids and donations.

Proceeds from the game will benefit the Bayou Region Affiliate, Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
