Final Stats

CORVALLIS, Ore. –
No. 15 Oregon State scored racked up 683 yards on offense against the Nicholls State University football team as the Beavers rolled to a 77-3 victory in front of 32,427 fans at Reser Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Nicholls closes out the season on an eight-game losing streak for its second straight 1-10 season. The loss to Oregon State (9-3) was also the Colonels' 11th consecutive against the BCS.

The Colonels finished with 223 on offense, but only 83 came in the first half. Landry Klann threw for 164 yards on 19-of-32 to become the first Colonel to eclipse 2,000 yards since 1998.  Senior Jesse Turner led the team with 11 receptions for 100 yards.

Oregon State tallied 379 yards in the first half to take a 35-0 lead into the break. The Beavers scored on the game's opening drive on an 8-yard run by Storm Woods, his first of two in the quarter. Although Nicholls didn't turn the ball over in the first half, Oregon State's offense was firing on all cylinders with three of its five scoring drives going for over 80 yards.

In the second half, OSU picked off Klann in the Colonels' opening drive, his first of two interceptions on the day, leading to a Sean Mannion touchdown as he connected with Richard Mullaney for a 4-yard score.  Mannion, who took most of the snaps for Oregon State, had another touchdown in the third and finished the game with 231 yards on 20-of-23 passing.

Nicholls put together a 14-play, 76-yard drive in the third, resulting in a 26-yard field goal from Andrew Dolan. But the three points would be all Nicholls could get as OSU continued to score at ease, finding the end zone in all 11 of its offensive drives. The 77 points is the most surrendered in program history, and the offensive output was the highest since Air Force put up 576 yards in 2009.

For the Colonels, Bryon Cobb and Chris Bermond led the defense with nine tackles each. Cory Kemps had a solid day punting, finishing with a 48.8 average on four punts, with three inside the 20.
