THIBODAUX, La. – For the second-straight week, the Nicholls baseball team will look to rebound from back-to-back conference losses, taking on the Southern Jaguars Tuesday night in Baton Rouge. The game will be televised live on Cox Sports Television beginning at 6 p.m. After earning a win on Friday for the third weekend-in-a-row, the Colonels dropped two tough games to McNeese on Saturday and Sunday, 2-0, and 8-7 in ten innings. The Colonels are looking to sweep Southern in a season for the first time since 2005.
 
The Opening Pitch
Seth Webster was named the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday... The Colonels dropped their second conference series of the year last weekend to McNeese 2-1... Nicholls is now 1-1 in extra inning games on the year, falling in the series finale 8-7 in ten innings... The Colonels lost for the first time when leading after seven innings... Seth Webster earned his second-consecutive complete game victory over the weekend, and has won his last three starts... Blake Bergeron belted the ninth home run of his career, and second this year, on Friday in the 1-0 win over McNeese, and scored four times over the course of the week... Beau Faulk and Austin Flores combined for four doubles, six RBI's and three runs scored last week... The Colonels are 9-6 against non-conference opponents.

Nicholls/Southern Series Notes
The Colonels hold an 89-38 advantage in all-time meetings against the Jags... Nicholls defeated the Jaguars 10-3 in an earlier meeting this year and, Nicholls has won five of the last eight meetings between the two teams... Since 2003 the Colonels and Jags have faced each other 21 times with Nicholls having an 11-10 advantage.
