Jackson State on Tap for Colonels Tuesday

THIBODAUX, La. – Coming off of its conference series win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi over the weekend, the Nicholls baseball team puts its 7-0 midweek record to the test against the 18-9 Jackson State Tigers on Tuesday at home in Thibodaux. The Colonels are only 7-7 at Ray E. Didier Field this year, but have yet to drop a game in-between weekends, while the Tigers are just 7-9 away from Mississippi.
 
The Opening Pitch
The Colonels will have a short week as they host the Tigers on Tuesday before departing on Wednesday to begin a conference series against the UT-Arlington Mavericks on Thursday... The Colonels had their three-game winning streak snapped over the weekend, but earned their second conference series win of the year after dropping the last two... Seth Webster was named the LSWA Pitcher of the Week for the second week in-a-row on Monday... Blake Bergeron hit his third home run of the year and tenth of his career over the weekend... Nicholls is 7-0 in midweek games this year and 10-6 against non-conference opponents.

The Colonels hold a 27-13-1 advantage in all-time meetings with the Tigers... This is the first meeting between the two schools since 1995... In that year the Colonels defeated the Tigers twice on back-to-back days 10-9 and 15-3.
