THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University baseball team continues its season-long home stand this week, hosting the South Alabama Jaguars Tuesday night. The Colonels defeated the Jaguars in March 8-4 in Mobile. Nicholls dropped a 2-1 series decision to Lamar over the weekend, losing eight of their last ten games overall.

The Colonels snapped their longest losing streak of the season over the weekend (five games), but still dropped their third straight weekend series, and fourth in the last five... Nicholls has given up double-digit runs in three of its last six games... Nicholls hit five home runs over the weekend, the most for the Colonels in any stretch of the season, with the fourth multi-home run game of the year on Saturday... The Colonels have already hit seven more than they did last year... Philip Lyons had back-to-back three-hit games and finished with seven for the weekend... Jeremy Hill had his career-long 12 game hitting streak snapped on Saturday, tying Lyons for the longest this season... Austin Flores had a seven-game hitless streak snapped, spanning 22 at bats, with a home run Saturday. Of his five hits in the last ten games, three are for extra bases, with two being home runs.
