Bobby Felder Signs with Minnesota Vikings

THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University football standout Bobby Felder has signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

Despite going undrafted, Felder, a two-time first-team All-Southland honoree, was quickly picked up by the Minnesota Vikings immediately following the conclusion of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

“We are very excited for Bobby about getting this opportunity, he has definitely earned it,” said Nicholls football head coach Charlie Stubbs. “Signing as a free agent could benefit him in the long run, giving him more of an opportunity to compete. He's been a great representative of our program and I know he'll continue to do so at the next level.”

Felder, a 6-1, 200-pound cornerback, intercepted five passes as a senior, putting him in a fourth-place tie on the Nicholls all-time career list with 12. A native of McComb, Miss., Felder was also prominent on special teams, blocking three kicks while also acting as the Colonels' primary punt returner.

Felder is the third Colonel from the defensive backfield to join the NFL ranks over the last five years, joining Kareem Moore and Baltimore Raven Lardarius Webb.
