THIBODAUX, La. – After Hurricane Isaac wreaked havoc with the Nicholls State University women's soccer schedule, the Colonels return to action with matches this week beginning with ULL Monday afternoon and Southern on Wednesday night.
 
The Colonels are coming off of a tough batch of matches last weekend, falling in a close contest to Oklahoma 3-1, before losing to Tulsa 7-0 last Sunday to fall to 1-3 on the season. The team was 1-2-1 after four games last year, dropping only one more match before going on the longest winning streak in team history before the start of Southland play.
 
The Colonels reprise their rivalry with the Ragin Cajuns on Labor Day at 1 p.m. at the Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility. ULL is looking for revenge after last year's 2-1 defeat in Thibodaux, in a series where the Cajuns had won all five matches until that point. The Ragin Cajuns have 17 underclassmen on this year's team.
 
Nicholls will face the Southern Jaguars on Wednesday in the eighth all-time meeting between the two teams, with the Colonels winning all seven previous meetings. The Colonels have outscored the Jags 20-3 since their first meeting in 2005, with four shutouts to their credit. Southern is 0-1 after losing to Southland member Lamar 6-0 on August 24.
