THIBODAUX, La.  –
Members of the Nicholls football program took time out of their spring schedule on Friday, April 19 to visit with local students at Thibodaux Elementary School.

The Colonels interacted with students from Mrs. Thibodeaux and Ms. Bianca Brown's second-grade class, playing math jeopardy and singing multiplication songs with the students. Each Colonel paired up with a group of students to provide words of encouragement regarding academics. The Nicholls football players completed the afternoon by giving the children a pep talk to prepare them for their upcoming test.

“You can tell by the smiles on our young men's faces that they really enjoy doing these kinds of activities,” said Nicholls football head coach Charlie Stubbs. “But more importantly, the kids have a great time and we hope we can have a positive impact on their lives.”

The Colonels who made the visit were Mike Henry, Abasi Salimu, Corey Spada, Daniel Stewart, Eric Trench and Marcus Washington.

Nicholls will wrap up the spring with its annual spring scrimmage, set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27 at John L. Guidry Stadium.
