The Colonels will be on television five times this season
THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University football team will have a total of five games telecast for the 2013 season with three games on television, including two on the Southland Conference Television Network, and two contests streamed on ESPN3.
The Colonels will open the season on Aug. 31 on the newly launched Fox Sports 1 against nationally-ranked Oregon at 3 p.m. The next two contests, at Western Michigan (Sept. 7) and at Louisiana-Lafayette (Sept. 14), will be streamed live on ESPN3. Both games will kickoff at 6 p.m.
Nicholls will have two games on Southland TV, starting with its home conference opener against Northwestern State on Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. In last season's matchup, the game came down to the final minute as NSU held on to defeat the Colonels 26-24.
The last televised game will be on Oct. 19 at Stephen F. Austin, which will also start at 3 p.m.
The Southland Conference Television Network enters its sixth season in 2013, fresh off winning its second College Sports Media Awards honor for live event production. An eight-game schedule will be featured on more than 20 affiliates across Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
The Colonels will hold their final two-a-day Thursday with their final scrimmage scheduled for Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
