LAKE CHARLES, La. – After a week off from action, the Nicholls State University women's volleyball team will travel to Lake Charles for a matchup with McNeese State University this Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Colonels (7-12, 3-3 SLC) are coming off of a tough loss to the two-time defending regular season and conference champion University of Central Arkansas, but will look to rebound against the Cowgirls (10-12, 1-6 SLC).
McNeese is has lost four straight matches and are coming off of a 3-1 loss to conference newcomer, University of the Incarnate Word, but will try to protect their home court at Memorial Gymnasium.
Kaci Eaton leads Nicholls offensively with 269 kills on the season while adding 184 digs. Eaton is first in conference and second in the nation in attacks per set.
Kalynn Egea has a team-high 377 digs, and is first in conference and fourth in the nation in digs per set at 5.80.
Ainsley Marroccoli has a team-leading 405 assists and
Emily Weimer leads the team in blocks with 49.
Amber Fryer and Rachel Cognina lead the Cowgirls with 225 and 212 kills respectively. Kelly Graham has a team-high 795 assists, while five McNeese players have registered over 150 digs this season.
Nicholls will face McNeese on Saturday before traveling for a matchup against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday at 7 p.m.
