Nicholls fell to 7-6 on the year after its loss to SMU
DALLAS, Texas – The Nicholls State University men's tennis team closed out their two-match Texas trip with a 4-0 loss to SMU on Friday at the Bent Tree Country Club.
"The guys fought hard and I'm really proud of them. We just lost to a better team today," said Nicholls head tennis coach

In doubles play, SMU (7-7) claimed the point after winning the No. 2 and 3 matches. The Mustangs took the No. 2 court by default, and

Lukas Clemens dropped a close 8-6 decision at No. 3.
The Mustangs dominated singles action, winning the three completed matches in straight sets. Clemens fell at No. 1 6-2, 6-1, and
Bernard Wezeman was defeated by Nate Lammons 6-3, 6-3. On the No. 5 court,
Sam Meessen dropped his match, 6-0, 6-2.
The Colonels (7-6) will return to action on Friday, March 17 against Texas Pan-American. First serve in Beaumont, Texas is scheduled for 2 p.m.
