MOBILE, Ala. – After a historic win against Southern Mississippi to open the season, the Nicholls State University women's soccer team will take on South Alabama at The Cage in Mobile on Sunday.
The Colonels (1-0-0) defeated Golden Eagles 2-1 for the first time in school history in their season opener on Friday.
In their most recent action, the Jaguars (0-1-0) fell in a heartbreaker to the University of Arkansas at Birmingham, losing 2-1 on a goal scored with just two seconds remaining in the second overtime.
Nicholls will look to build off of the success of their season opener and spoil South Alabama's hopes of a rebound game.

Kirstie Champagne lead the Colonels offensively with one goal apiece.
Kaitlyn Caro is the team-leader in assists with two.
Hannah Charde leads the Jaguars offensive efforts with their lone goal this season. Rio Hardy leads in both shots (10) and shots on goal (4).

Taylor Mosley is the backbone of Nicholls' defensive effort with six saves.
Sarah Hay has 12 saves for South Alabama, allowing two goals in the season opener.
