Colonels Fall to University of Arkansas-Little Rock 3-1

Final Stats LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team dropped their first match of the weekend 3-1 to the University of Arkansas-Little Rock on Friday.
 
The Colonels (1-2-0) fell behind 2-0 in the first half, and despite a valiant second-half effort, were not able to overcome the Trojans (3-0-0).
 
UALR got on the board early when Alyson Rohane scored eight minutes into the contest off of a pass from Quin Wilkes. Just ten minutes later Wilkes dished out her second assist of the game, passing to Fali Garuba who put the shot away to give the Trojans a 2-0 halftime lead.
 
Nicholls answered in the 68th minute when Hannah Savoie fired a curving shot that snuck into the top corner of the goal, cutting the lead in half.
 
Wilkes continued her outstanding offensive effort by adding a goal to go with her two assists, scoring off of a pass from Linnea Kogsta in the 81st minute to give the Trojans a 3-1 lead and secure the win.
 
Spencer Valdespino led all Colonels with five shots on the day. Savoie had two shots on goal and scored once.
 
Goalie Taylor Mosley had five saves on the day and allowed three goals for Nicholls.
 
Leading the Trojans defense was goalie Bre Ilkuf with two saves and one goal allowed.
