Colonels Take a 4-0 Victory Over Alcorn State

Final Stats LORMAN, Miss. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team defeated Alcorn State 4-0 on Friday night behind a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive effort.
 
The Colonels (4-3) scored twice in the first period and twice in the second with four different players scoring on the night.
 
Spencer Valdespino got things started with a goal in the 22nd minute, assisted by Misty Tatom. Lauren O'Brien scored 15 minutes later to give Nicholls a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
 
In the 79th minute Shelby Smith scored off of a pass from Missy McGuire. Bethany Hollier scored the final goal of the match nine minutes later.
 
Four different Colonels scored on the day, continuing the balanced effort that the team has employed all season long. Through seven games, 15 different players on the Nicholls squad have scored a goal.
 
Alcorn State (0-2) did not record a shot during the game, while Braves goalie, Maegan Aria recorded five saves with four goals allowed.
