THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team took a 1-0 lead early and outlasted Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday afternoon at the Nicholls Soccer Complex.
The Colonels (5-4) scored just ten minutes into the contest when

The Islanders (1-4-2) took 11 shots in the first period and had a number of opportunities. On one instance Corpus Christi had a 1-on-1 with goalie
Taylor Mosley, but the Islander shot hit the left post, only inches from tying the game.

Coates registered the only goal for the Colonels, her second of the season, while Werenskiold earned her second assist of the year.
Delaney led the Islanders offensively with a team-high three shots from the goalie position.
Mosley faced 12 shots and earned six saves in a shutout effort on the evening.
