Colonels Battle Incarnate Word in the Alamo City

SAN ANTONIO, Texas The Nicholls State University women's soccer team traveled to San Antonio, Texas and will take on the University of the Incarnate Word at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
 
The Colonels (5-5, 1-2 SLC) fell 3-0 to Abilene Christian University on Friday, but will look to right the ship against the Cardinals (0-8, 0-1 SLC) a Southland Conference newcomer this season.
 
The Colonels will be led by Jess Coates, who has two goals and a team-high three assists this season. Kaitlyn Caro has contributed two goals and two assists on the year.
 
Sarah Johnson leads Incarnate Word offensively with two goals and assist. Alexis Santos has two goals on the season.
 
Goalie Taylor Mosley (3-5) enters with 45 saves and 17 goals allowed this year. Mosley has a .726 save percentage through 10 games.
 
Karly Brightwell (0-6) will be in the net for the Cardinals, with 23 saves and 16 goals allowed. Through their first eight games, Brightwell has a .590 save percentage.
