THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University men's tennis team continued its strong play at home as the Colonels earned a 4-0 victory over Alcorn State on Friday evening at the Colonel Tennis Complex.
 
Nicholls improved to 4-7 on the year with win. After starting the season with eight matches on the road, the Colonels have played their last three matches at home, winning all three.
 
The Colonels started off the match by claiming the doubles point, winning on courts 1 and 2. Kieran Cronin and Bernard Wezeman won 8-3 at No. 2, while Partha Adavelly and Lukas Clemens picked up an 8-6 victory to secure the point.
 
In singles, only three matches were completed as the Colonels clinched the team victory. Cronin shutout Kilian Salgado, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 and Sam Meessen allowed just one point on the No. 5 court against Garry Amor. Adavelly ended the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 versus Ernesto Santillan.
 
The Colonels will hit the road for their next match, taking on Jackson State on Tuesday, March 24.
