THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's basketball team will take on Houston Baptist University Wednesday night at Stopher Gym to close out its three-game home stand. Tipoff against the Huskies is scheduled for 6 p.m.

STORYLINES
- Nicholls picked up a huge win over second-place Lamar, 78-67, last Saturday at home to up its conference record to 3-4. 
- The Colonels hit 11 3-pointers in the win, including six in the first quarter. Tykeria Williams led five Colonels in double figures with 19 points, while Taylor Morrison hit five treys and scored 18.
- Cassidy Barrios notched her third double-double of the season with 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Nicholls, which is being outrebounded by nearly 14 per game, had a margin of just minus-5 in the win over Lamar.
- Nicholls head coach DoBee Plaisance is two wins shy of reaching the 100-win milestone. Plaisance became the program's all-time leader in wins last season, surpassing Ben Abadie's 89.
- Plaisance's 2007-08 Loyola team was inducted into the Wolf Pack Hall of Fame last Saturday. Plaisance was inducted into the hall in 2015 and now has three players from that team in the hall of fame. (STORY)
- While there is still over a month remaining in the regular season, the matchup against HBU is crucial for both teams as they are fighting for a postseason berth. The Colonels are currently in a three-way tie for seventh place, while HBU is a game back at 2-5.

NOTABLE STATS
- Nicholls ranks among the best in the nation in several categories, highlighted by a No. 3 ranking in the NCAA in steals (13.1). The Colonels are also sixth in turnover margin (8.28) and 11th in free throw shooting percentage (.784). Individually, Hope Pawlowski ranks 12th in steals (3.28) and Tykeria Williams is 19th (3.06). Other leaders include Taylor Morrison ranking 14th in minutes per game (36.94) and Cassidy Barrios ranking 47th and 59th respectively in free throws made (82) and free throw percentage (.837). 
- Cassidy Barrios leads the team in scoring (14.9), rebounding (7.1), field goal percentage (.454), assists (51) and blocks (9).

HBU PREVIEW
- Like Nicholls, HBU is led by a sophomore guard, Lisa Zderadicka (STARE-uh-dich-kuh), at 10.2 points per game. She is also averaging  4.2 rebounds per game and leads the team with 39 assists and 16 steals. In Southland play, Zderadicka upped her scoring average to 13.7.
- Heidi Byrd is second on the team in scoring in league games at 9.4 points.
- HBU and Nicholls has had four common opponents this season. HBU defeated UIW and Sam Houston, but lost to Stephen F. Austin and ULM. Nicholls picked up wins against ULM and Sam Houston, and fell to UIW and Stephen F. Austin.

SERIES
