THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University volleyball team fell in four sets, 25-19, 14-25, 25-15, 25-19, to Northwestern State Saturday at Stopher Gym.

Freshman outside hitter paced the Colonels (3-19, 1-8 SLC) with 10 kills while senior outside hitter Stephanie Tobison nearly missed a double-double on a team-high 14 digs alongside nine kills.

The Lady Demons (10-12, 5-2 SLC) picked up their fourth consecutive victory behind Reagan Rogers (15 kills, 11 digs) and Alexis Warren (11 kills). Northwestern State's libero Channing Burleson contributed a match-high 17 digs.

Nicholls held an 8-4 lead in the first set before the Lady Demons ripped off seven straight and 11 of the next 13 points to take an insurmountable lead. Senior middle hitter Emily Weimer fronted the Colonels with four kills on six attempts in the opening frame.

Nicholls turned the tables in set two at 5-5, making a 6-1 run to take an 11-6 edge. The Colonels had a five-point spurt, lifted by two Weimer kills, while leading 15-10 to put away the set.

The Lady Demons found an 11-point barrage in the third and four- and five-point runs in the fourth to secure the win. Junior Brieanna Hill tallied five kills in the third, and Williams totaled four kills in the decisive set.

Nicholls travels to face Lamar and Stephen F. Austin on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
