THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's basketball team will close out the regular season on Senior Day Saturday against rival New Orleans. Tipoff at Stopher Gym is scheduled for 1 p.m.

STORYLINES
-  The Colonels will be looking to extend their program record of consecutive seasons with double figure wins, which current sits at five seasons. A win over New Orleans would put Nicholls at 10 for the second-straight season.
- Before the game, Nicholls will honor its three-member senior class. The 2017 class consists of guards 
Taylor Morrison, 
Hope Pawlowski and 
Emani White.
- Nicholls has already secured its bid into the Southland Conference Tournament and currently holds the eighth and final spot. A win over UNO could move the Colonels up a spot, depending on the official tiebreakers which will be released later today.
- The Colonels are coming off an 81-77 loss at Lamar Thursday night. Nicholls trailed by 18 early in the game, but was able to make it a three-point game in the final minutes. 
Hope Pawlowski led the team with 18 points.
- The loss to Lamar was Nicholls' seventh in the last nine games. The Colonels defeated rival Southeastern Louisiana twice during the span by a combined 51 points.
 
SCOUTING THE PRIVATEERS
- New Orleans enters the matchup looking for a season sweep of the Colonels after winning at home earlier this season, 81-77. Randi Brown, the league's leading scorer at 22.2 points, scored 23 to lead the Privateers to the four-point victory.
- UNO is not only making its first appearance in the SLC Tournament since joining the league, but they have already secured a first-round bye by finishing in the top 4 of the standings.

Nicholls will head to Katy, Texas for the sixth consecutive time to take part in the Southland Conference Tournament. The Colonels will open play Thursday, March 9 with the time and opponent yet to be determined.
