THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University volleyball team hosts a match Saturday at 1 p.m. against Houston Baptist University at Stopher Gym.

The Colonels (2-12, 0-1 SLC) dropped a three-setter against McNeese Tuesday in their conference opener despite a near double-double from senior outside hitter Stephanie Tobison (eight kills, 10 digs).

During the past four games, freshman Imanie Williams has accumulated a team-high 27 kills. Senior middle blocker Emily Weimer and Tobison have also been heavy contributors with 2.0 kills per set.

The Huskies (9-4, 1-0 SLC) swept the Cowgirls Thursday behind right-side hitter Ashtyn Richey's 15 kills. Preseason All-SLC First Teamer Bailey Banks smashed 14 kills on a .423 clip. As a squad, HBU ranks atop the league with 2.4 blocks per set.
