THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University volleyball team will play in its final road match of the regular season Tuesday when it faces Abilene Christian University at Moody Coliseum. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Colonels (3-22, 1-11 SLC) nearly eked out a win against UIW Thursday but fell in five sets. Nicholls had several standout performers, including freshman Kylie Lockhart, who managed 25 digs in her first career game as libero.

Junior Heidi Carpenter registered her second triple-double of the season, and freshman Aaliyah Burras and sophomore Sydney Swann eclipsed career highs with 14 and 10 kills, respectively. Carpenter is one of 17 Division I women's volleyball student athletes with multiple triple-doubles this season as she also achieved the feat Sept. 14 against IUPUI.

The Colonels are seeking revenge against the Wildcats (12-12, 9-3) after dropping a four-setter to them on Oct. 13 in Stopher Gym. Freshman Katie Jones pounded a team-high 15 kills and Carpenter recorded a double-double in that match.

Senior Brieanna Hill (2.4 kills/set), Jones (2.2) and Burras (2.0) each have at least two kills per set in league play.

ACU attackers Jacey Smith (3.2 kills/set) and Katelyn Mueller (3.1) are among the SLC Top 10 attackers, ranking sixth and seventh, respectively. Setter Kendall Bosse sits atop the league with 10.9 assists per set. The Wildcats are 6-0 at Moody Coliseum in conference play.
