WACO, Texas – Coming off an 83-80 win at Idaho, the Nicholls State University men's basketball team will take that winning energy into the Ferrell Center Friday morning to face the Baylor University Bears at 11 a.m.

Graduate transfers
Jeremiah Jefferson and
Gavin Peppers contributed 20-point performances to lift the Colonels (2-2) past the Vandals. Jefferson (21.5 ppg) and Peppers (17.8 ppg) rank 1-2 in scoring in the Southland Conference.
Nicholls has converted at least 10 treys in three of four games this season, averaging a league-leading 12 per game. The Colonels have also been exceptional at the charity stripe, knocking down 79 percent of free throws, which also leads the league.
Following a season-opening loss to Texas Southern, the Bears (2-1) have rebounded with two consecutive wins against SWAC opponents Southern and Prairie View A&M. Junior college transfer Devonte Bandoo spearheads the team with 17 points per game.
Baylor also boasts one of the best blockers in the nation, Tristan Clark, who averages 3.0 blocks per game. As a team, the Bears sit fifth in Division I with 7.7 swats per contest.
