Nicholls has split its last two games - both against in-state opponents - and will be looking to climb over .500 for the first time this season. The Colonels started the year with four losses and then won four straight, before falling to Tulane and defeating ULM.

The win over ULM Friday was a memorable one as Nicholls fought back from a 23-point deficit in the second half to defeat the Warhawks, 55-54. Senior Cassidy Barrios scored 27 points to lead the way and was honored by the Southland Conference as its player of the week for the third time this season.

Barrios is averaging a double-double with 21.3 points and 10.7 rebounds - both bests in the Southland. The reigning Louisiana Player of the Year also leads the SLC in free throws made (56), free throw percentage (92.9), assists (47) and double-doubles (6). She also fifth in the league in field goal percentage at (47.3).

Redshirt junior Airi Hamilton is the only other Colonel to start all 10 games this season and is third on the team in scoring at 6.2 points per game. In the win at ULM, she played a career-high 40 minutes and totaled nine points with five rebounds. Last season in the 65-50 loss to LSU, Hamilton joined Barrios in double figures as they score 10 and 15, respectively.

LSU is coming off a 57-43 loss at Rutgers on Saturday, which dropped the Lady Tigers to 5-3 on the season. Khayla Pointer scored 21 in the defeat but was credited with seven of LSU's season-high 25 turnovers.

Pointer is second on the team in scoring this season at 12.6 points, while Ayana Mitchell is averaging 14.4 points and 12.0 rebounds. The 6-foot-2 post player is shooting 58.7 percent from the field and had a season-high 24 points in a home loss against Kansas.

Including last seasons meeting, the Lady Tigers are a perfect 12-0 all-time against Nicholls.
