CONWAY, Ark. – The Nicholls State University women's basketball team has avenged every conference loss from last season's championship season with the exception of one team - Central Arkansas. The Colonels will have the chance to Saturday at the Farris Center, with tipoff scheduled for 2 p.m.

Nicholls (9-8, 3-2 SLC) won 11 times in its Southland regular season slate and knocked off three more opponents in the postseason, but none of the 14 victories were against the Sugar Bears. UCA swept the season series for the second time in the last three years, pushing its winning streak to five games against the Colonels.
The teams enter Saturday's matchup after completely opposite outcomes in their Wednesday game. Nicholls suffered a one-point loss to McNeese, which came to Thibodaux searching for its first Southland and Division I win of the season. UCA entered the day without a conference win and went on to blow out UIW, 74-43.
The outside shooting woes continued in league play as Nicholls made just one 3-pointer against the Cowgirls, dropping its percentage to an even 25 in its five conference games. The Colonels shot at or better than their average from the field and at the free throw line against McNeese, but will need the offense at full capacity in facing one of nation's stingiest defenses.
Central Arkansas (6-9, 1-4 SLC) held Nicholls to under 50 points in both meetings last season, and the Sugar Bears are ranked among the NCAA leaders in points allowed again this year, ranking 16th in the nation at 55.4 ppg.
Colonel senior guard Cassidy Barrios continues to lead the Southland in scoring 20.0 (ppg) and rebounding (11.1), while also ranking second in assists (4.8). She had her 12th double-double of the season and ranks fifth in the NCAA in the category.
UCA is headed by Kamry Orr at 14.1 points and 2.9 assists. Orr put on an offensive clinic in the Sugar Bears' win in Thibodaux last season, scoring a career-high 32 points.

Nicholls returns to Thibodaux for its final home game for nearly a month, hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
