THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University men's basketball team winds down its three-game road swing Wednesday against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi at the American Bank Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Fans can follow the game on ESPN New Orleans 100.3 FM with Voice of the Colonels Bryant Johnson on the call. The Islanders will also provide live stats along with a free video stream through the Islanders Digital Network.

The Colonels (10-9, 3-3 SLC) were unable to make enough plays down the stretch at UCA and suffered a 74-68 defeat in a game that featured seven ties and four lead changes. Graduate transfer Gavin Peppers poured in a career-high 26 points on seven 3-pointers, tying teammate Jeremiah Jefferson (Nov. 8 at Louisville) for the third most by a Southland student-athlete this season.

Sophomore Kevin Johnson dished out a career-high nine assists and boasts the second-best assist-turnover ratio (33:13) in league play.

Johnson, Jefferson and Peppers rank third, fourth and seventh, respectively, in the SLC in minutes per game. Johnson has played 40 minutes three times and at least 25 minutes in every game this season.

A&M-Corpus Christi (8-10, 3-2) split their first five conference contests, using a strong second-half surge to roll past UNO 76-61 Saturday. Kareem South has scored in double figures in seven of the last nine games, including three performances with at least 20 points.

Nicholls is 5-9 all-time against the Islanders, searching for its first road win in Corpus Christi since 2011.
