THIBODAUX, La. -- The Nicholls State University women's soccer program (3-11-1, 0-8-0 Southland) opens the final stretch of the 2019 campaign with back-to-back home matches over the weekend, hosting in-state rival Northwestern State (8-7-1, 5-2-1 Southland) on Friday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. before celebrating the team's numerous four-year athletes with Senior Day against Central Arkansas (3-11-1, 2-6-0 Southland) on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m.
The Lady Demons travel south boasting wins in three of their past four contests, knocking off HBU, Sam Houston State & UIW during that stretch. In recent years against the Colonels, however, Northwestern State has struggled, posting a 1-2-1 overall record with both losses coming on Nicholls' home turf. As for Central Arkansas, the Bears managed to make up a ton of ground last weekend with their first two league wins of the season, powering past HBU & Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, as they pulled within one victory of the Southland's projected eight seed for the conference tournament.
