Nicholls edged by HBU in one-score contest

HOUSTON, Texas -- The Nicholls State University women's soccer program (3-8-1, 0-5-0 Southland) faltered in a tight league contest against HBU (2-10-0, 1-4-0 Southland) on Sunday afternoon, falling by an eventual 2-1 margin to the Huskies at Sorrels Field in Houston, Texas.

KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS
-- Despite jumping out to the team's first lead since the Sept. 15 match at Southern, the Colonels were unable to contain an early second-half push by the Huskies as back-to-back scores in the 56th & 59th minutes granted the host squad a lead they would not surrender.
-- Offensively, the Red & Gray logged shots from five different players throughout the match, finishing the day sporting six total with three coming on goal. Senior Tessa Calabria tallied her second goal of the season in the 15th minute, drilling a shot past the HBU keeper for an early 1-0 advantage; meanwhile, junior Hannah Bodron led the team in both shots & shots-on-goal, notching two apiece.
-- Senior Roosa Hurmerinta returned to a starting role in the net for the Colonels, allowing two goals on the afternoon while recording eight total saves.
