THIBODAUX, La. -- The Nicholls State University men's basketball program (5-4, 0-0 Southland) looks to extend the team's three-game win streak Wednesday night against Carver College (1-6, 0-0 NCCAA), wrapping up the Colonels' non-conference home schedule as they host the Cougars at 7 p.m. in Stopher Gym.
In the Red & Gray's previous two matchups against non-Division I opponents -- vs. Blue Mountain College (Nov. 26) and Campbellsville-Harrodsburg (Dec. 2) -- Nicholls has put together a pair of unyielding offensive performances, averaging an impressive 111 points in back-to-back record-breaking wins. Notably, redshirt junior Andre Jones compiled the first triple-double of the Austin Claunch era in last week's 120-69 victory over the Pioneers while fellow transfer Lorenzo McGhee posted a team season-high 31 points along the way.Â

- The team boasts five seniors: G D'Angelo Hunter, G Tom Clement, G/F Brandon Moore Jr., G Dexter McClanahan & F Elvis Harvey Jr.
- This year's roster is highlighted by five newcomers, as redshirt senior G D'Angelo Hunter (West Virginia), redshirt junior G Andre Jones (Arkansas-Little Rock) & redshirt senior G Dexter McClanahan (Savannah State) all became eligible following transfers from fellow collegiate programs while sophomore G Lorenzo McGhee (Columbia State CC) climbed aboard via a JUCO program & freshman G Tyrease Terrell signed on directly from high school.
