Both teams will be aiming to end three-game skids. Nicholls dropped a pair of games in Jacksonville over Thanksgiving weekend to host JU and North Florida, before falling last Tuesday at No. 25 LSU. ULM's last win was against Northwestern State but has since fallen against three Southland schools - Southeastern Louisiana (65-52), McNeese (72-69), and HBU (72-64).
Nicholls is 2-0 at home this season with wins over Paul Quinn College and SUNO. Dating back to the start of the 2018-19 season, the Colonels have won 13 of 14 games in Stopher Gym. In the two victories this season, the Colonels put up 101 and 94 points.
Adrian Mann (11.4 ppg) and
Airi Hamilton (10.9) continue to lead the Colonel offense in scoring. Mann missed the LSU game last week but has scored in double figures in four straight games. Hamilton had completed the same feat in five consecutive games but was held to six points against the Tigers.
ULM is paced by guard Lauren Fitch who is pouring in 15.6 points per game. Fitch has a couple of 20-point games on the year, including a season-high 28 at Tennessee Tech.
Despite winning the last two meetings, the Colonels still trail ULM in the all-time series, 41-9. In last year's matchup in ULM, Nicholls had one of the biggest comebacks in NCAA history as the Colonels erased a 23-point deficit in the second half to win 55-54.
